- Ocean Pines in Ocean Pines, MD is a very large resort community with many amenities for seniors including golf. It is open to all ages but has a high senior population as it started out as a retirement community (verify percentage of seniors with community.) Within ten miles of Ocean City resort areas. Next phase will be for Independent living units with assisted living and memory care available. After that in future it is planned to have more Phase 1 type homes.
Vantage Point also has the nearby over-55 independent-living community of Mallard Landing with homes for purchase or rent.

Four Seasons at Saint Margarets Review--condo community sold out:
Maryland's serene Eastern Shore seems another world away from Washington DC or Baltimore, which are less than an hour commute. The drive to Ocean City is 1 1/2 to 2.
Annapolis, known as the "sailing capital of the world," featuring lots of marinas, of course, is the closest city area on the opposite side of the Bay Bridge, being just a mere ten minutes away from the Eastern Shore.
Our tour is of two communities in this area, just over the Bay Bridge. The land becomes flattened and miles of farmland make homes infrequent.
Therefore, we continue on to K. Hovnanian's Four Seasons at Saint Margarets, only ten minutes to Annapolis, and 2 miles from the Bay Bridge. Off of Highway 50 (the main road that goes over the Bay Bridge) take exit 29B and at the first stoplight bear right onto College Parkway.
We thought this was an attractive upscale-appearing active adult condominium development. The hostess stated that when finished there would be fifteen elevator buildings with ten units in each. (St. Margarets is now built out and sold.) Buildings with garages are three stories and without garages are four stories. These are all condominiums, with or without garages.

Review of Symphony Village by Caruso Homes

After Saint Margarets, we continued to the next closest community. We definitely wanted to see Caruso Home's Symphony Village in Centreville, having won many outstanding awards. Continuing not too much further down highway 50, at the 50/301 split we took Rt 301 No. to Rte 213 No. and right on Taylor Mill Rd. There will be signs. Caruso Home's Symphony Village was a treat for all of our senses and a recommended "must see" if you are considering retirement at the Eastern Shore of Maryland.

Just over the Bay Bridge, and 30 minutes from Annapolis, it is perfect for commuters who want to get away from congested city areas. Seniors today very often continue to work full or part-time. People come not only from the surrounding areas but also from other states as well. |

Currently Symphony Village is surrounded by farms. It is quiet except for the symphonic sounds greeting you from the parking lot, and continue to soothe you throughout your tour. |

BeethovenAs you enter your first model home, an intense potpourri fragrance is in the air, symphonic melodies envelop you, and rich mellow colors are everywhere.
But before you begin your tour, a professional presentation by a gracious hostess was given. She gives you every detail about floorplans, options, exteriors, etc. She says it is a very active place while showing me their Calendar of Events.
It's on 175 acres and will have 395 homes when finished. A shopping center is nearby. They have two pools, indoor and outdoor, and tennis courts. The clubhouse is finished. They will maintain your front yard and shovel snow. (Please verify all information and inquire for further details.)
The homes started in the mid-$200's. You can choose a basement or not. 9' ceilings are standard, 42" kitchen cabinets, soaker tubs, double bowl vanities, seat in the shower. No restaurants on site but there are some in nearby Centreville.
