Review: Potomac Green by Del Webb Is it the blue sky and fluffy white clouds I see today sitting picturesquely over the community, the lush fantasy-filled plantings, the magnificent clubhouse filled with amenities to delight you .. is it the smiles of the people who greet you .. is it the well-planned homes .. what is it that makes you feel good when visiting this place .. I am glad I am returning for a second visit because I liked Del Webb's Potomac Green very much the first time I saw it a year ago and I like it even better today on my second visit.. You should check this one out .. Update as of Aug 9 2008: Single family homes: the premier plan is sold out (these are the large ones and total of 101 homes).. in a "down" real estate market they are doing very well.. The smaller single family has sold 101 out of a total 151 so 50 left We focused on the villas because they weren't built when we were here last: Out of 260 total, they have sold 170 -- there are only 90 left. They are hoping to have all these sold next year. They haven't decided when the condominiums are to be built as they want to finish up selling the remaining homes -- please verify and check with them on the status if condominiums are to be built and when .. I always wanted a writing desk like this next to a window filled with a view of a Japanese Garden..well this doesn't come with your home of course but, well, maybe you could put one in your own home if you wanted it..
..now maybe you just want to see floorplans but I liked this free standing kitchen table--hmmmmmm--I do think active retirees have time to do some gourmet cooking and they will need some workspace for their "hobby" or new entrepreneurial career--this doesn't come with the home either--but these are things you may want to consider in your retirement home..
..and more things to consider--an upstairs bonus room for the visiting grandkids..this is in the Concord Loft villa with a start base price of $325,900 (please verify all prices and information)
and the other side of the upstairs Bonus Room--very large room
..you can make the second downstairs bedroom a home office or study--or the Concord and Burlington loft plans have bonus rooms upstairs for an extra bedroom and bath or office space.

Centex also will have a community here. The Centex sales office is across the street from Del Webb's. Note: To find the community, it is off of Route 7 in Loudoun County. If you aren't familiar with the area, please have a good map or the number of the sales office handy 703-723-9105. I had trouble finding the route 607, (Loudoun County Parkway road)that you turn onto from Route 7, as the street sign was easy to pass. But once on that road I found getting there easy as there were signs posted.
