Assisted Living-Atria Senior Living: I am impressed with the variety of services and amenities of assisted living-Atria Senior Living. Go to their website to see the very thorough listings. Atria This is one of the largest assisted living organizations and also includes memory care. Please note that we do not recommend any communities--we are information only--those decisions must be yours. Each community in 27 states offers different services unique to that location, but here are some: Independent Living - for active seniors - when you want more time to do the things you love and spend less time on maintaining your home, cooking meals etc Assisted Living - when you reach an age where you may begin to need some extra help. Alzheimer's care (and other memory problems) is offered at some communities in a separate memory program. Here are some of the unique features I mentioned: Restaurant style dining with lots of food choices - 2 features stand out for me - they will serve menu items suggested by the residents and their items are heart healthy and menu includes items that use less salt Concierge (not offered at all communities)It's important to feel someone is around to talk to if a problem arises Medication monitoring- this is one of the first problems that show up in aging -- forgetting to take medications at the proper times and days -- and it is so important pool area - everyone feels better after a swim - check if availability at the community you are interested in Housekeeping, laundering of bed linens - pretty standard at assisted living communities emergency call systems in every apartment - definitely gives a feeling of security 24 hour availability of trained staff cocktail hour (at some locations) anytime cafes for those snacks we crave without having to go out to a grocery story - very convenient great locations - their website lists the services unique to that location such as surrounding area amenities - each community is planned to reflect the style of the location it is in and the resident's lifestyles with the help of the management staff. active lifestyles that keep you engaged - part of their core philosophies to help you more thoroughly enjoy your retirement This gives an idea of the variety. There can be more depending on the community and not all services and amenities are at all communities--please check with the community.
