New Hampshire Taxes - Advantages for its Residents

In addition to being a lower cost of living state, New Hampshire taxes offer many advantages for its residents. Many come from the surrounding states to retire there.

Here are some:

  • Private pensions are not subject to income tax in New Hampshire.
  • Interest and dividends are taxed at 5% in New Hampshire.
  • The first $2,400 per person of interest and dividends is tax exempt for NH residents.
  • Capital gains of all types are not taxed in New Hampshire.
  • New Hampshire has NO sales tax.
  • New Hampshire has NO income tax on wages.
  • New Hampshire has NO estate tax.
