We found a GREAT place to retire.

Natural Lake Setting with Community Pier
Hello everyone!
Well, we wanted to leave the northern Illinios winters but didn't want to wait until retirement. My husband was only 55 years old but our four kids were grown and starting their own lives so we figured we could make the big move early.
We flew down to Tampa, stayed in many hotels, from Orlando to Lakeland and finally found Angler's Cove in Lakeland, Florida. It's a really nice, gated community, tucked away in an area that you would not think you'd find it. But, fortunately we did.
We found it on the internet first and then came to look. We purchased a home there and have been very happy there the past three years. You really need to visit this community to appreciate the friendly residents and the serenity, the natural tropical birds, fishing (Angler's Lake) and the amenities - There's a clubhouse, heated pool, shuffleboard and billiards. The location was perfect for us, between Tampa and Orlando. Short drive to beaches and Walt Disney attractions, etc... We enjoy great neighbors and reasonable lot rent.
The Lakeland downtown area is full of activities, civic center, shops, restaurants and lakes to enjoy. A true gem! You can buy a home there for $9,000.00 and up. Lot rent depends on the lot you buy. We bought a lakefront lot. There were a couple of other really nice communities in Winter Haven, called Swiss Golf and Tennis Club and Four Lakes Golf Club that were just beautiful, but since we are not golfers, we preferred a more natural setting.
Good luck to all of you who are embarking on moving to beautiful Florida. We're very glad we did.
Dear Escaped: Thanks for sharing your find with us of a manufactured/mobile home gated over 55 community in Lakeland, Florida.

CA a retirement find.........
by Visitor to website
San Francisco and Golden Gate Bridge
San Francisco, CA - has everything - keeps the mind stimulated, check it out. From: Recommendation of Visitor to our Website.
Hi Visitor:
I agree -- I lived in San Francisco for one glorious year many years ago--except I moved down the Peninsula to San Jose because for me I didn't like the cold and foggy summers--but otherwise fantastic. Thanks for letting us know how much you like it for a retirement city. Carol - Publisher Best Guide-RC

Beautiful Southern Oregon!
by Terri
(Southern Oregon)
This area has lots of hiking, biking, boating and fishing. The traffic is light, a small international airport is close and the pace is quiet.
Beautiful valley settings and lovely vineyards abound for your visiting pleasure. Grants Pass has many desirable areas with great access to the Coast. San Francisco, Reno and Portland for your big city fix.
Check the Chamber or stop and visit May through September--something is always going on!
Mild winters may have an infrequent inch or two of snow and once in a while it can get to 100. All in all, this area has a lot going for it, especially the clean mountain air. Check out Crater Lake, which is close as well... See you there..
Thanks, Terri, for letting us know about Southern Oregon--I find it awesome there as well. Carol

Living on the Eastern End of Long Island, New York
by Gina
(Long Island, NY)
Office at Glenwood Village to See Homes
I am living on the Eastern End of Long Island in a manufactured home community. I thought you would like to know that this is a beautiful community and place to live. Very quiet and peaceful. There is no heavy traffic like on other parts of Long Island. A manufactured home community is less expensive than some other ones in the area and offers the same area attractions.
I highly recommend this community to all your readers. It is called Glenwood Village. I hope you will review this community as I feel it is a wonderful area to retire in and people may not be aware of it. So much to do with the beaches so close and good shopping and restaurants. We love it. Hope this helps.
