In New York there are two types of assisted living facilities. We urge you to ask the community you are interested in what type it is. You also should always ask to see their license papers and visit frequently before making decisions.

There is a huge variety of facilities to choose from in both Suffolk and Nassau counties.  You are sure to find one that is right for you or a loved one. 

The average cost of assisted living in New York state is $4000/mo. according to the Genworth.  This is above the national average.

I visited this facility and talked with the staff.  I came away with a positive feeling. The staff was caring to residents and visitors.  If you have military service, reach out to them for more information.  Check out the popular Adult Day Health Care program.  Widows and spouses of eligible vets can also apply (verify).  They have a very nice facility at:  100 Patriots Rd., Stony Brook - Call them for an appointment at 631-444-VETS
