Some manufactured homes communities have rent to buy programs to see if you would enjoy living in a manufactured home.  Communities that have rentals or seasonal rentals are highlighted in yellow. Carefully read all rules and restrictions.

Senior communities are usually neat, quiet and low maintenance. Be sure to purchase new homes from reputable dealers with warranty programs.

Landlease vs Resident-Owned
Manufactured Homes

Resident-owned manufactured homes communities in Florida are communities with no lot rent and may offer better stability.

In a land-lease community, the owner of the land could sell the land and require you to move. Some owners of land-leased communities, however, state they have long-standing commitments to being more permanent, but read your contracts.

Land-leased communities may be preferred for financial reasons. Check with the owner for more about the community.  Please verify if listings on this page are resident-owned or land-leased.

The ownership of these communities vary: some may be owned and/or managed by a large company, individual developers who own many communities or privately-owned. Most land-leased communities have an annual rent increase on the lot but not always so you should ask what the rent increase policy is.  

Counties with the most manufactured homes in Florida:

The West Coast of Florida has the most communities with Pinellas and Polk counties having the most in Florida.  On the East Coast, Palm Beach and Broward County have the most.  In Central Florida, Lake and Orange counties are the leaders.
